These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Homeschool Lite LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Homeschool Lite,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Homeschool Lite website, mobile or web applications, software, educational planning tools, artificial-intelligence features, communications, integrations, and related services collectively referred to as the “Service.”
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, clicking an acceptance button, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Do not use the Service if you do not agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to create a parent, guardian, educator, administrator, microschool, co-op, tutor, evaluator, or organizational account.
When you create or manage an account for a child, family, homeschool program, co-op, microschool, school, or other organization, you represent and warrant that:
- You are authorized to create and manage the account;
- You are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or you have obtained all required parental or organizational authorization;
- You have the legal right to provide the information submitted through the Service;
- You will use student information only for legitimate educational purposes; and
- Your use of the Service complies with applicable privacy, education, recordkeeping, and child-protection laws.
Children may use student-facing portions of the Service only through an account created or authorized by a parent, legal guardian, or other properly authorized adult.
2. Description of the Service
Homeschool Lite provides tools that may assist families, educators, co-ops, microschools, tutors, and other authorized users with activities such as:
- Creating and managing student profiles;
- Organizing curricula, subjects, courses, lessons, and assignments;
- Building calendars and homeschool schedules;
- Recording attendance, grades, progress, and completed work;
- Creating portfolios, reports, transcripts, and educational records;
- Receiving reminders, planning suggestions, and organizational alerts;
- Importing, uploading, scanning, or organizing educational materials;
- Connecting calendars, email accounts, or third-party services;
- Using artificial-intelligence tools to generate plans, summaries, recommendations, or other educational content;
- Locating curricula, educational resources, providers, or external services; and
- Reviewing general homeschool compliance information.
Features may vary depending on your subscription, device, jurisdiction, account type, or product version.
3. Homeschool Lite is an organizational tool
Homeschool Lite is a technology and educational-organization service. It is not:
- A school, school district, umbrella school, private school, or governmental education agency;
- A law firm or legal service;
- An accounting, tax, medical, psychological, therapeutic, or financial service;
- A substitute for a parent’s educational judgment or supervision;
- An official state or district recordkeeping system unless expressly agreed in writing; or
- An accreditation, licensing, certification, or diploma-granting organization.
You remain responsible for directing your homeschool, selecting curricula, supervising students, maintaining legally required records, submitting required notices, obtaining evaluations, meeting instructional requirements, and verifying compliance with applicable law.
4. Educational and legal-information disclaimer
The Service may provide general information about homeschool laws, deadlines, attendance, portfolios, evaluations, testing, transcripts, notices, or other compliance topics.
This information is provided for general educational and organizational purposes only. It is not legal advice and may not reflect the most recent requirements in your jurisdiction.
Laws and policies may change, and requirements may differ by state, county, district, umbrella school, scholarship program, or individual circumstance.
You are responsible for independently confirming requirements with appropriate sources, such as:
- Your state or local education agency;
- Your school district;
- Your umbrella or private school;
- A qualified homeschool organization;
- A licensed attorney; or
- Another qualified professional.
Homeschool Lite does not guarantee that using the Service will satisfy any legal, regulatory, scholarship, accreditation, graduation, college-admission, or recordkeeping requirement.
5. Accounts and account security
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete account information.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- Restricting access to your account and devices;
- All activity conducted through your account;
- Reviewing authorized users and organizational permissions;
- Promptly updating inaccurate information; and
- Notifying us immediately of suspected unauthorized access.
You may not share login credentials in a manner that allows unauthorized individuals to access student information.
We may require identity or authority verification before providing access to an account, releasing records, changing ownership, or processing a privacy request.
6. Student profiles and child information
A parent, guardian, or authorized organization may create profiles for students.
Depending on the features used, a student profile may contain information such as:
- Name or nickname;
- Age, birth month and year, or grade level;
- Educational subjects and curriculum;
- Assignments, attendance, scores, grades, and progress;
- Reading or mathematics levels;
- Learning preferences, strengths, and areas requiring support;
- Accommodations or special educational needs;
- Portfolio documents, photographs, recordings, or work samples;
- Goals, notes, evaluations, and transcript information; and
- AI-generated educational observations or recommendations.
You agree not to submit more information than is reasonably necessary to use the Service.
You should not upload medical diagnoses, Social Security numbers, financial-account numbers, government identification numbers, precise location information, or highly sensitive information unless the Service specifically requests the information and its submission is reasonably necessary.
You are responsible for determining whether information is appropriate to place in a student profile.
7. Parental consent
When applicable law requires parental consent before Homeschool Lite collects, uses, or discloses information from a child, the child may not use the affected feature until the required consent has been obtained.
Parents and legal guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of information associated with their child, subject to reasonable verification and legal exceptions.
An organization that authorizes a child's use of the Service represents that it has obtained any required parental permission and has provided parents with all legally required notices.
Homeschool Lite may suspend child access when parental authority or consent cannot be verified.
8. Organizational accounts
Co-ops, microschools, tutors, schools, churches, education programs, and other organizations may be permitted to create organizational accounts.
The organization is responsible for:
- Identifying an authorized account administrator;
- Controlling staff and volunteer access;
- Assigning appropriate permissions;
- Removing access when a person no longer requires it;
- Obtaining all required parent or guardian authorizations;
- Responding to requests concerning organizational education records;
- Following applicable student-record and privacy laws; and
- Entering into any required data-processing or student-privacy agreement.
Unless otherwise stated in a separate written agreement, the organization controls the educational content and student records it submits, and Homeschool Lite processes that information to provide the Service.
An organizational administrator may be able to access, modify, export, or delete information associated with users under the organization's account.
9. User Content
“User Content” means information, text, files, schedules, images, curriculum details, assignments, student records, messages, notes, recordings, and other materials submitted to the Service by or on behalf of a user.
You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant Homeschool Lite a limited, nonexclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, process, display, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate and provide the Service;
- Perform requested functions;
- Maintain security and prevent abuse;
- Provide customer support;
- Comply with law; and
- Improve the Service using de-identified or aggregated information where legally permitted.
This license ends when the User Content is deleted from our active systems, except for limited backup copies, security records, or information we are legally required to retain.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit User Content.
10. Artificial-intelligence features
Certain Service features may use artificial intelligence or automated systems to generate:
- Lesson plans;
- Schedules;
- Summaries;
- Curriculum mappings;
- Educational recommendations;
- Assignment descriptions;
- Progress observations;
- Compliance reminders;
- Communications; or
- Other content.
AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, unsuitable, or inconsistent.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it or presenting it to a child, parent, school, evaluator, or government agency.
AI-generated content must not be treated as:
- Legal advice;
- Medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice;
- A formal diagnosis or evaluation;
- A guaranteed academic recommendation;
- An official transcript or government record without review; or
- A replacement for adult supervision or professional judgment.
You should not enter unnecessary sensitive information into an AI feature.
Homeschool Lite may impose limits on AI usage and may modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue AI features.
11. Subscriptions and payment
Some portions of the Service may be free. Other features may require a paid subscription.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize Homeschool Lite and its payment processor to charge the payment method provided for all applicable fees and taxes.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout:
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period;
- Renewal charges will be based on the then-current subscription price;
- You may cancel future renewal through your account settings or by contacting [BILLING EMAIL];
- Cancellation stops future renewal but does not ordinarily create a refund for the current billing period; and
- Access to paid features may continue through the end of the paid billing period.
Prices, features, and subscription limits may change. We will provide notice of material price changes as required by law.
Free trials
A free trial may automatically convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends. The applicable trial terms will be disclosed when you enroll.
Refunds
Except where required by law or expressly stated in a written refund policy, payments are nonrefundable.
Approved refunds will be returned through the original payment method when reasonably possible.
Failed payments
We may suspend or limit paid features when a payment is declined, reversed, disputed, or overdue.
You remain responsible for valid charges incurred before cancellation or suspension.
12. Third-party services and integrations
The Service may connect to or contain links to third-party products, including:
- Calendar providers;
- Email providers;
- Cloud-storage services;
- Curriculum publishers;
- Testing services;
- Educational vendors;
- Scholarship or government websites;
- Tutors, evaluators, co-ops, or service providers;
- Payment processors; and
- Artificial-intelligence providers.
Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
Homeschool Lite does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, pricing, accuracy, or conduct.
A link, listing, or integration does not necessarily mean that Homeschool Lite sponsors, endorses, certifies, or guarantees the third party.
Homeschool Lite may receive referral or affiliate compensation from certain links or purchases. When applicable, the relationship will be disclosed as required by law.
13. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any law or the rights of another person;
- Access an account or student record without authorization;
- Collect, disclose, or exploit children’s information improperly;
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm another person;
- Upload malware, malicious code, or harmful content;
- Interfere with the Service’s security, operation, or infrastructure;
- Attempt to bypass account restrictions or usage limits;
- Scrape, crawl, copy, or extract data through unauthorized automated means;
- Reverse engineer or attempt to discover source code except where prohibited by law;
- Sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit access to the Service without written authorization;
- Use the Service to train or develop a competing artificial-intelligence system;
- Upload content that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- Generate deceptive academic records or falsify attendance, grades, transcripts, evaluations, or official documents; or
- Use the Service for surveillance, discriminatory profiling, or other harmful purposes.
We may investigate suspected misuse and cooperate with lawful investigations.
14. Homeschool Lite intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, layout, branding, databases, workflows, text, graphics, logos, and original content, is owned by Homeschool Lite LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the Service for its intended educational and organizational purposes.
No ownership interest is transferred to you.
“Homeschool Lite,” associated logos, and related branding may not be used without prior written permission.
15. Feedback
When you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you authorize Homeschool Lite to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
This section does not give us ownership of your student records or other User Content.
16. Service availability and changes
We may add, remove, modify, suspend, or discontinue features.
The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, security issues, internet failures, third-party outages, emergencies, or circumstances outside our control.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of a particular feature, or compatibility with every device or third-party service.
You are responsible for keeping independent copies of records you are legally or practically required to maintain.
Homeschool Lite should not be used as the only storage location for critical attendance records, transcripts, portfolios, evaluations, or legal documents.
17. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through [ACCOUNT SETTINGS OR SUPPORT METHOD].
We may suspend or terminate access when:
- You violate these Terms;
- Payment is overdue;
- Your use creates a security, legal, or operational risk;
- We reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access;
- We are required to do so by law; or
- We discontinue the Service.
When reasonably possible, we will provide an opportunity to export User Content before termination, unless access must be restricted immediately for security, safety, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective, including provisions concerning ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
Homeschool Lite disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and results.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted;
- Information or AI output will be complete or accurate;
- The Service will meet every legal or educational requirement;
- A student will achieve a particular academic result;
- Third-party content or services will be available or reliable; or
- All data loss, security incidents, or technical failures can be prevented.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some portions of this section may not apply to you.
19. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homeschool Lite LLC and its members, managers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, profits, educational records, business opportunity, or goodwill.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homeschool Lite's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid to Homeschool Lite during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- One hundred United States dollars ($100).
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
20. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Homeschool Lite LLC and its members, managers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:
- Your misuse of the Service;
- Your violation of these Terms;
- Your User Content;
- Your violation of another person’s rights;
- Your failure to obtain required parental or organizational authorization;
- Your creation or submission of inaccurate educational or legal records; or
- Your violation of applicable law.
This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Homeschool Lite's own unlawful conduct.
21. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, any legal action arising from these Terms or the Service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and each party consents to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at [LEGAL EMAIL] and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief or filing an eligible claim in small-claims court.
22. Electronic communications
You consent to receive electronic communications concerning:
- Account administration;
- Security;
- Billing;
- Parental consent;
- Privacy requests;
- Service changes;
- Legal notices; and
- Other transactional matters.
You may unsubscribe from promotional messages, but you may continue receiving necessary account and legal communications.
23. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, law, technology, or business practices.
We will post the updated Terms and revise the “Last Updated” date. When required, we will provide additional notice or obtain renewed consent.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.
24. General provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective.
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign these Terms without our written permission. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, or sale of assets.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable order form or written agreement, constitute the entire agreement concerning the Service.
