How does the free trial work?
Sign up with an email address and a password and you get 14 days of full Premium access. No credit card, no payment details, nothing to cancel if you decide it is not for you.
What happens after the 14 days?
The app asks you to subscribe before you can carry on. Your school, students, schedules, and attendance records all stay exactly as you left them, and they come straight back the moment you subscribe.
What does it cost?
$9.99 per month. There is one plan, Premium, and it includes every feature on this site. No per-student pricing and no upsells.
Can I cancel?
Any time. Billing runs through Stripe, and the My Subscriptions page in your settings opens the Stripe customer portal where you can change your payment method or cancel yourself.
How many students can I add?
Up to 12 on a single account, at no extra cost. Each one gets their own profile, color, schedule, and attendance record.
Do my students get their own logins?
If you want them to. You create a username and password for each student, and they sign in to see only their own schedule and any tasks you have assigned them. They can tick work off as they finish it, and you see that straight away.
What is the difference between the two schedule modes?
The structured schedule is a timed weekly calendar: lessons sit in slots you can drag around. Block mode drops the clock and gives each day an ordered list of work instead. You can switch between them whenever your term changes shape.
Where do the curriculums come from?
There is a searchable library you can filter by subject and grade, with each entry marked verified, partially verified, or unverified so you know what has been checked. You assign a curriculum to students, set the days it runs and where to start, and the scheduler places the lessons. You can also add your own events alongside it.
Can I start in the middle of the school year?
Yes, and it is the normal case rather than the awkward one. Each assignment takes a start date and a starting lesson, so beginning on lesson 34 in February works the same as starting from lesson one in September.
Does it handle grades, transcripts, or state reporting?
Not today. HomeSchoolLite covers planning, scheduling, attendance, and tasks. Attendance reports print to PDF for any date range, which covers the most commonly requested record, but there is no grading, no transcript builder, and no state-specific filing.
Is there a dark mode?
Yes. The app follows your system setting by default, and you can override it per device from the top bar.
